MEET THE HANDY GIRL
I believe the beginning of my journey to this business
began when I was around 12. I asked my parents if I could
paint my bedroom a multitude of colors, with furniture painted
to match. However, I wanted to paint it myself. With some guidance, tips & tricks from my Dad, I made it happen.
Shortly after, our VCR stopped working. I opened it up and noticed a small tube had a black smoke marking inside. I walked my 13 year old self to Radio Shack and found out that was a blown fuse, VCR fixed! If something was broken, I wanted to work out how to fix it. If I didn’t like the way a room looked, I wanted to redesign it.
After nearly 10 years of doing one of the most challenging, yet rewarding jobs ever, a stay at home mom, I was READY! I collected every skill, passion and talent I've developed over the past 30+ years, package it into one business and offer my services to you, in The Handy Girl Menu. Over the next several decades, I bounced between majoring in Architecture & Design to Computer Network Engineering in college. I then dove into a 7 year career as a Computer Network Administrator. In 2006, I moved to Sydney, Australia with my husband and started a Graphic Design business, designing mainly wedding, shower, birthday, gala and corporate event invitations & accessories. In 2012, now with 2 children in tow,
we moved back to the States.
